Windsurfing schools in Vancouver
Sadly, windsurfing is a sport that has long been stereotyped as something for the more extreme of us to partake in. The fact that it can only be done near water, and the expensive equipment, has always been something that people struggle to come to terms with too. This means that windsurfing has always suffered in popularity behind sports such as mountain biking. However, even if you don’t want to take it up on a regular basis, you can always participate in the sport on holiday as it’s not a difficult thing to pick up.
Apart from the immense pleasure and exhilaration you can gain from windsurfing at speeds that can reach almost 20 miles per hour, you also gain immense health benefits from windsurfing. Windsurfing effectively gives you a full body workout while you enjoy yourself, in fact many people who recently took up the sport say that you barely even notice that you are working out at all. This is why the sport is perfect for anybody who can’t stand going to the gym. Like many other sports, it’s also a perfect activity to make lifelong friends. In an age where everybody is moving so fast that they barely have any time to talk anymore, making friends is more difficult than ever. This is why windsurfing is perfect for is as it’s well-known that many windsurfers who end up going down to the beach early in the morning together end up becoming friends for life. These are just a few of the many benefits that windsurfing, as a sport, can provide you with.
Although there are not that many windsurfing schools in the Vancouver area, it’s with great benefit to you that there is still a choice of schools.
Windsure is the major windsurfing school in the Vancouver area. They have a massive presence both in Vancouver and on the internet as they constantly top the main Google search engines. Unlike conventional windsurfing schools, it’s not just a case of booking your lessons and then attending. No, they also provide full-blown windsurfing camps. These intense camps can make you proficient in the sport in just a few short weeks as highly professional tutors put you through your paces.
The UBC sailing club is another major club in the Vancouver area. Unlike Windsure, however, the UBC Sailing Club does not specialise purely in windsurfing or purely in providing lessons. As well as windsurfing, the UBC Sailing Club also specialises in providing rental craft for many different sports as well as running events for a variety of different water sports. However, you can be sure that the lessons they provide here are top notch and they pay just as much attention to windsurfing as they do to any other of the water sports.
Club Locarno is another Vancouver club which specialises in many different water sports. In a similar way to The UBC Sailing Club, Club Locarno specialises in providing rental craft as well as running a variety of beginner and advanced lessons for many of the major water sports; including windsurfing! Club Locarno is known for its friendly and high-quality tuition so this should be a place to take into consideration when deciding on a windsurfing school.
The Viking Sailing Club, while not specialising on providing tuition, is a club that can provide you with an adequate tuition in windsurfing. However, it’s advised that you choose one of the other clubs in this article as The Viking Sailing Club mainly specialises in providing rental craft and running a variety of racing events. The Viking Sailing Club is probably best if you already have at least some windsurfing experience, as opposed to if you are just starting out.

Belly Dancing Classes in Vancouver
Belly dance is a very popular style of exotic dance. Interestingly the term “belly dance” was actually a term coined by the Western world describing what actually just traditional Middle Eastern dance is. Not without a hint of irony considering the focal point of “Belly Dancing” is not actually the belly but is rather the hips. This style of dance employs a wide range of muscles most prominently the abdomen, lower back, legs and thighs, it is a very laid back style of dance, not particularly fast paced or overly technical, nor is it competitive in nature unlike many other dance styles, this makes it an excellent choice for women of all ages and fitness levels. more
